U.N.I.T.Y. - Unionville Nurturing Individualism and Togetherness Yearlong

What is
U.N.I.T.Y.?

The mission of U.N.I.T.Y. is to warmly welcome and familiarize students with our school and community by developing and encouraging friendships through positive opportunities and experiences. All students are invited to be involved with the student led organization to assist new students in their transition to Unionville High School. New students in the district are paired with volunteers according to their interests, sports, music, etc. Various activities are planned throughout the year. The U.N.I.T.Y. program was established at Unionville High School in the summer of 1997 for the express purpose of welcoming and making new students to the area comfortable with the High School. Transition to a new school and area can be difficult The U.N.I.T.Y. program promotes a smooth transition as its primary goal. Here are some facts about the U.N.I.T.Y. program:

  • U.N.I.T.Y. is all volunteer.
  • Volunteers are from all segments of the high school who want to become involved.
  • Former transfer students make up fifty percent of the U.N.I.T.Y. program.
  • Most U.N.I.T.Y. activities take advantage of the high school calendar.
  • U.N.I.T.Y. has a Steering Committee which plans and executes the program.
  • U.N.I.T.Y. is a great source of information for new students.
  • An invitation to U.N.I.T.Y. activities is an excuse to socialize.
