Patrisha “Trish” Ross Obtains National Board Certification
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) is an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan and nongovernmental organization. It was formed in 1987 to advance the quality of teaching and learning by developing professional standards for accomplished teaching, creating a voluntary system to certify teachers who meet those standards and integrating certified teachers into educational reform efforts. Since its inception, it has been dedicated to improving the teaching profession and positively impacting student learning. NBPTS is dedicated to advancing quality teaching and learning. NBPTS was formed in 1987 by an innovative coalition of educators. National Board Certification is the teaching profession’s highest standard of excellence. Those who achieve it demonstrate that they are truly accomplished teachers. The NBPTS is a very meticulous process making it a very challenging program to complete. Congratulations to Trish on this accomplishment. Her hard work and determination will certainly benefit all the students she teaches.
